FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR!!!

Little Mates Child Development Center is thrilled to announce we have been approved again for the 2021-2022 Pre-K Counts expansion grant and have been successfully awarded FIVE classrooms for this upcoming school year. We will have the opportunity to educate a total of 85 children through this program. We are appreciative of the partnership with the Berks Community Action Program (BCAP)

Three classrooms will run at the Little Mates location with wrap around before care (630 AM-830 AM) and after care (230 PM-5:45 PM) available for a small fee.  See below for additional location.

New Location Added!!  *** MCC located at 4221 Main Street, Elverson will hold 2 additional classrooms beginning Sept. 6, 2021 ***

We will be able to offer a FREE preschool program for eligible 3 and 4-year-old children who reside in Pennsylvania! These full day classes, held at Little Mates, and our new added location in Elverson, are made possible through the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Expansion Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). The grant program is designed to provide quality Pre-Kindergarten programs for children determined to be most in need in our community.

How are children selected?

First priority will be given to children whose family income is at/or below 300% of the poverty level. Enrollment is limited to seventeen children per classroom. Priority goes to 4-year-olds, however, some 3 year olds may be granted enrollment. At risk families will be given priority. A waiting list will be maintained throughout the school year, and applications will be accepted throughout the entire school year.

PA Pre-K Counts is designed for children who:

  • are 3 or 4 years old and have not yet entered kindergarten; and
  • are at risk of school failure because of income (300% of the federal poverty level or a family of four earning $83,250, family of 5 $97,410 or less...).
  • Additional risk factors listed on application

Verification of income will be required.
